A typical finn messing around

Today i felt like a typical finn. Don't know what's that like? Well, a typical finn when receiving a compliment (for example: Oh, you're a landscape designer!) starts immediately tell how it is not interesting at all. I know, this sounds really odd and it is. Especially when i really do think it is interesting :)

And as one of the "buddies" told, i might come from one of the weirdest countries in the group of all the international students. The example what he used was this Finnish sport called eukonkanto. I have to admit i've never tried it but i concider it as a funny thing to do. Wikipedia will tell you more about this!

Sometimes that typical finn might sound a bit rude. Typical finn is not very talkative, at least with new people. But that's something i have seen many times with norwegians too. Maybe this is what they call cold scandinavians (well, even if Finland is not always concidered to be part of scandinavia).

I'm super excited to get to know new people and i'm sure that will happen while studying some norwegian language and culture in UIN! Some friends back in Finland asked me why would i need that, i do speak some swedish already, isn't that enough? I guess i could live with swedish but the thing is i don't really want to. I might be living in Norway for a while, some years or so, and that's why i really want to learn the language, intergrate to the society, be part of this great country at least the way a foreigner possibly can.

I'll write sometimes in English for now on and soon -i hope- also in norwegian :)
